Contributions: Abstract

Most of today's commercial applications of conjoint analysis employ preference ratings of linear paired comparisons. Optimal designs for this model have been studied extensively in the recent past. This talk summarizes current results and presents some new findings. Special attention is paid to paired comparisons of partial profiles in which the alternatives are only described by varying subsets of the attributes. Reduction methods which yield optimal designs with a practical number of paired comparisons are indicated.
