Mplus Version 3

Linda Muthén
Muthén & Muthén

This software presentation draws on the general modeling framework in Mplus, which achieves its flexibility from using a combination of categorical and continuous latent variables and gives as special cases structural equation modeling (SEM), growth modeling, mixture (latent class) modeling, and multilevel modeling.

The new Mplus version 3 adds an extensive set of new analysis possibilities as well as several convenience features such as graphic displays of analysis results in growth mixture modeling and automatic starting values and random starts in latent class models.

New features in Mplus Version 3 will be demonstrated using examples including latent variable interaction modeling with different types of outcomes, growth mixture modeling of school achievement development and high school drop out, latent class analysis of antisocial behavior and diagnostic criteria, multilevel modeling with latent variables, and Monte Carlo studies of sample size and power.
